Women’s bras are not just any item of underwear. They need to fit like a second skin and be comfortable all day long, all year round. Your bra should accentuate your bust and flatter your figure, all the while literally taking a load off your back—with no pinching straps or harsh bands. The perfect bra should not only make you look good but feel good too!
Finding a well-fitting bra is within your reach with the new collection on the MONA website. Our range of bras from well-known brands are so comfortable to wear and, thanks to their perfect fit, model your bust to your best advantage. Whether you are looking for a small cup size or a figure-flattering larger size, non-wired ladies’ bras or underwire bras, lacy designs or supportive bras with wide straps, we have the ideal piece for you. Take your pick from the colours available that range from white (but not at all boring) to seductive midnight blue or black.
We are very careful to only include bras made from the best materials in our collection, to guarantee that your next bra is breathable and soft against your skin, easily washable and attractive to boot. A bra may be mostly hidden but knowing that you’re wearing a beautiful piece of lace will put a spring in your step.
The kind of bra that fits you best depends very much on your figure, but also on what you want to achieve. A bra can hide your assets—or make them much more noticeable. Let’s see what a well-fitting bra can do for you, and what is best for your figure!
With a cup size ranging from AA to B, you won’t need all that much support. Instead, your bra should emphasise the shape of your bust. You can simply opt for a non-wired bra hugging your figure, and of course you’ll easily carry off a strapless design to be worn with tops that have a wide neckline. If you want to add a bit of volume, you should go for padded cups or a push-up bra. Some bras feature removable inserts to be used according to the occasion. Since your bra need not provide strong support, with a smaller bust you can choose a lace bra that looks a little more feminine.
For cups in the range from B to C you’ll be glad to have a bit of support, but it is much more important to shape and accentuate your noticeable curves. An underwire bra and pre-formed cups is an excellent option, with wider straps and wings if you are looking for additional comfort. Shaped cups flatter your figure and are barely noticeable—not to you, and not to a viewer. With a medium-sized bust you can also choose a balconette bra to wear with a plunge neckline.
Cup size D and above requires good support to save you from constant backache and show your figure to your best advantage. A generous bust needs underwire bras with pre-formed cups that give the bust an appealing shape. Wide shoulder straps distribute weight evenly and don’t cut into your shoulders, even after a long day. If you want to hide some of your bust, there are minimiser bras with a special cut that can take up to one cup size off your brust.
Materials and cut are certainly important, but for your bra to fit really well, size matters. Usually bra sizes are a combination of numbers and letters. The letter indicates the cup size, starting with small AA and ranging up to DD and beyond. The number gives the circumference of your chest measured just below your bust.
To determine your size, take your measurements like this:
Measure the underbust by placing a tape measure directly under your breasts. It should not cut into your flesh but feel snug. The underbust is given in units separated by 2 inches, so you may have to round up or down the measurements. 37 becomes 36, 33 becomes 34.
To measure the circumference of your chest, place the tape horizontally around its widest point.
Based on this, you can determine your cup size. Subtract the underbust measurement from your chest size. The result indicates the cup
With a well-fitting bra, the wings should not slip or slide. It should sit at about the same height on your chest and back. If the band slides up your back, it’s probably too wide. Straps that are too short or too narrow will pinch or cut into your shoulders. The cups should fit well with your bust comfortably encased, neither sliding around in the cups nor giving a feeling of bulging out.
